Job Summary: The Medical Physicist works closely with the Radiation Oncologist, Dosimetrist, and Radio Therapist to ensure the accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation. This role involves direct patient care, contributing to the safe and effective delivery of ionizing radiation as prescribed by the Oncologist. Key responsibilities include calibration of machines, office radiation safety training, and quality assurance of diagnostic and therapy equipment.

Responsibilities:
1. Performance specification, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
2. Development and maintenance of quality assurance programs for all treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational equipment.
3. Maintenance of all instrumentation required for calibration of sources, measurement of radiation, and calibration of doses.

Qualifications:
The clinical medical physicist must have an M.S. or PhD in medical physics and be ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible. CHI Saint Joseph Health supports 5000 active employees, 8 hospitals, specialty clinics, and a Medical Group with more than 200 locations across Central and Eastern KY. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with Varian 23iX linac, Elekta VersaHD linacs, and Philips Brilliance Big Bore, 4D CT simulator. We primarily use SNC QA equipment, and currently have SNC Daily QA, ArcCheck, MapCheck2, Round Phantom, and Profiler in use.
