About the Role:

The Territory Sales Manager is a key position at Culp, Inc. responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key and regional field accounts. This role will be charged with generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and meeting sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key and regional field accounts to maximize sales growth and profit for the Company.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders within the accounts.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities for sales growth and provide solutions in concert with customer segmentation and selling strategies.
  • Understand the unique needs and challenges of each account and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling or introducing new products and services.
  • Travel to meet with accounts as needed and represent the Company at industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Cultivate client relationships through in-person sales presentations, personalized delivery of market updates, product demonstrations, and other touch points.
  • Address customer needs and propose appropriate products and services, including preparing and sending quotes, negotiating terms, and closing sales.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Review sales opportunities, performance, and forecasts with internal teams and management.
  • Continuously improve sales techniques and product knowledge through training and development.
  • Responsible for the sales, profit, and merchandising functions for the assigned customers, as well as informing order needs or securing customer forecasts.
  • Collaborate with inventory, scheduling, and quality teams to share customer comments, needs, and concerns and participate in process resolutions.
  • Collaborate internally with design, communications, production, service, and all other internal teams to support customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Service Excellence team to ensure comments on emerging trends are addressed in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Ensure communication of all customer-specific programs, guidelines, and policies.
  • Engage in growth opportunities and other duties as assigned by your manager or Sales Leadership.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales within the textile or adjacent industries.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with sales techniques and products available to sell.
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of resilience and ability to handle rejection.

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Commensurate experience considered.

Travel Requirements:

  • Flexible work arrangement with a blend of in-office and work-from-home based on business needs. Regular travel required to maximize sales and foster strong customer relationships.
