Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Prescription Processing and Dispensing: Review and process prescriptions, conduct patient profile reviews, detect and resolve order entry and prescribing problems, and intervene as necessary.
  • Drug Preparation and Dispensing: Provide properly labeled medications, demonstrate understanding of drug preparation techniques, and execute dispensing of medications in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Comply with requirements for pharmacy department documentation in all areas.
  • Purchasing and Inventory Control: Anticipate shortages, obtain drugs in select emergency situations, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Provision of Clinical and Drug Information: Identify pertinent questions, process data to formulate solutions, and provide general verbal and/or written drug information in accurate and timely manner.
  • Teaching, Communication, and Program Development: Communicate effectively with customers, precept students, and participate in departmental and interdepartmental educational programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an approved college of Pharmacy.
  • Greater than 3 years pharmacy practice experience, or 1 year of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Registered as a licensed pharmacist or eligible for reciprocity in the State of Connecticut.
  • Member of the local, regional, and national professional organizations.
Work Environment

This position is located at our Norwalk-120 location and requires a per diem schedule with standard hours of 0.10. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
