Overview:
The Rehabilitative Specialist is responsible for delivering services that identify, prevent, and treat physical dysfunction or pain, with a focus on enhancing physical capabilities.
This role involves the assessment and analysis of patients, applying therapeutic techniques, utilizing physical and chemical modalities, guiding patients and their families, and implementing procedures aimed at maximizing functional independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts evaluations and develops treatment plans in accordance with departmental clinical standards. Collaborates in team meetings to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Educates patients and their families on treatment protocols and recovery strategies.
- Engages in peer review and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
- Completes documentation in line with departmental requirements.
- Initiates discharge planning with input from patients, families, and team members as necessary. Recommends appropriate equipment to meet patient needs.
- Participates in 20 hours of continuing education annually and provides 2 hours of in-service training to staff each year.
- Offers hands-on clinical training to students.
- Mentors junior staff and assists in their professional development.
- Guides and evaluates support personnel while delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Seeks assistance from senior staff when necessary.
- Meets all compliance obligations related to the position.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
FIM certification in rehabilitation settings is required. CPR certification is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience are necessary.

Departmental hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 8 pm, and Friday from 7 am to 5 pm, with two evenings required per week.
