Position Summary/Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, testing, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage security cabling, equipment, components, and devices related to Access Control, Video/CCTV, IP Cameras, Fiber, PA Systems, Network Infrastructure, Security, and Voice/Data Systems.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using testing equipment and hand tools to identify breakdown causes and implement solutions.
  • Install and mount electronic devices, panels, sensors, and components effectively.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install wiring and cabling, demonstrating knowledge of industry standards and manufacturer color codes.
  • Experience with the installation and operation of fiber optics, Cat 5e, 6a, RS 485, and 232 analog and digital cable specifications.
  • Proficient in Fusion Splicing techniques.
  • Utilize an Electronic (FLUKE) multi-meter to identify open circuits, short circuits, and ground faults in networking or other field wiring.
  • Possess a working knowledge of class 2 cabling in accordance with NFPA 72, BICSI, and other relevant codes governing low voltage systems installation.
  • Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and related electrical systems to ensure efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.
  • Inspect electrical/security systems and components to evaluate conditions, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventative maintenance.
  • Review assigned work orders and provide daily updates to scheduling coordinators and clients.
  • Communicate all work details prior to commencement and upon completion to clients at the work site.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency in completing all assigned tasks.
  • Inspect customer sites and review work orders, blueprints/plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures.

Required Skills/Attributes:
