Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN Specialist to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nuclear medicine images, utilizing independent judgment and initiative in producing quality exams. They will also provide administrative services to the diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
  • Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted.
  • Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician.
  • Follow radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited AMA program with a certificate or degree in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Registration with the ARRT and/or NMTCB or eligibility for registry.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in nuclear medicine technology.
