Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Des Moines, IA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform remote triage to assist with roadside breakdowns
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
  • Coach/Mentor other level technicians
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four (4) years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
