We are seeking an experienced Electronics Lab Technician to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our display and touch engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting engineers in the bring-up of prototypes and hands-on measurements at bench stations. You will also be responsible for maintaining part of the electronic lab with required equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist engineers in high-volume test instrument calibration with vendors
- Support DUT replacement at test setup for screening or characterization
- Assemble thermal tools for thermal head and chambers
- Bench setup and tear down
- Board rework (attach/remove components, add fly-wire for routing by solder)
- New incoming/outgoing board screening with software and test instruments
- Fire extinguisher inspection coordination
- Lab organization
- Escorting for lab cleaning (6 lab rooms)
- File facility tickets to fix miscellaneous lab issues
- EHS inspection and HazMat bin collection
- Plan and maintain lab facilities for optimal efficiency
- Champion safety, security, and quality
- Work across multiple teams to get things done
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or relevant experience
- 5+ years of related experience in small engineering labs
- Excellent debugging, optimization, and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits
- HW testing and validation for silicon IPs
- HW testing and validation with oscilloscope and power measurement equipment
- Ability to work with schematics and PCB layouts
- Comfortable working on OSX-based Apple computers
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python/C-code
- Passion, diligence, integrity, and exceptional aptitude
- Team player with excellent conversational and written communication, and negotiation skills
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $31.20 and $56.65/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
