Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Osceola Medical Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures. Your expertise in asepsis and sterile technique will be essential in maintaining a clean and safe operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Donning and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE) and operating room attire
Gathering and preparing supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
Performing the surgical scrub and setting up the sterile back table and Mayo stand
Assisting with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field
Participating in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out procedure
Securing tubing, cords, and other sterile accessories
Preparing and anticipating additional instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for usage during the procedure
Assisting the surgeon with passing instruments and supplies during the procedure
Maintaining the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure

Requirements:

Graduate of an operating room technician program or military operating room training
Minimum of 2 years of operating room scrubbing experience
Current BLS certification
National Board Certification, preferred
Minimum of 2-3 years of operating room experience, preferred
