Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Laboratory Specialist I is responsible for the thorough analysis of laboratory specimens and the accurate reporting of results in accordance with established protocols. Key duties include:
- Conducting clinical tests across various laboratory disciplines, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
- Ensuring timely reporting of test results to facilitate prompt patient care.
- Adhering to quality control procedures and addressing any discrepancies with the appropriate supervisor.
- Performing routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Participating in ongoing education to remain current with laboratory practices and advancements.
- Demonstrating reliability and punctuality in all work-related responsibilities.
- Complying with safety protocols to protect patients and staff during laboratory operations.
- Upholding a professional and respectful environment for all patients, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience: Preferred 1-2 years in a laboratory setting.
Licensure/Certifications: Required MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or equivalent certification.
Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate.
