Core Job Responsibilities:
Accountable for designated aspects of the upkeep and operation of large-scale photovoltaic power facilities. Responsibilities encompass monitoring plant performance via SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying both AC and DC solar photovoltaic systems, including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems.
Experience Required:
- 1 - 4+ years of experience in a similar role or Journey level certification.
- Experience in managing and maintaining electrical systems in power plants, operating SCADA and control systems, troubleshooting complex electrical components, and following procedures for preventative and corrective maintenance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Electrical certifications, such as state or journeyman, are advantageous.
- Equivalent military, utility, or power industry training is a plus.
- Proven knowledge of electrical safety and arc flash standards.
- Solid understanding of and ability to adhere to operational, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Strong safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis.
- Familiarity with industrial or power facility operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Proficient in medium and high voltage switching.
- Extensive experience in testing and troubleshooting medium and high voltage equipment, including transformers, potential transformers, current transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, and inverters.
- Capable of retrieving relay files and documentation.
- Fully proficient in utilizing a CMMS system for maintenance tracking.
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) are essential.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to critically analyze processes and issues.
- Exemplary integrity.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Ensure a safe working environment by strictly following company protocols.
- Accountable for personal safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.
- Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief, and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
- Under supervision, responsible for various PM tasks including measuring, reading, testing, and performing maintenance on all site components.
- Effectively communicate with remote operators.
- Ensure CMMS work orders are thoroughly completed. Prepare necessary documents for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
- Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted, and filed appropriately.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across all necessary organizational areas to resolve plant issues.
- Attend, participate in, and successfully complete all assigned training in safety, environmental, and other areas as required.
- Maintain work area and site cleanliness to 5S standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Reports to the most senior site managers or supervisors based on the on-site organizational framework.
- May receive tasks from advanced technical staff - Technician III and above.
- Travel may be necessary based on regional needs.
Ability to bend, kneel, twist, lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, and wear PPE for extended periods.
Capable of working in varying temperatures, enduring sun exposure, and navigating uneven terrain on foot.
