Job Description
This Electrical QA Inspector role will support quality control and commissioning activities for electrical installations at key Data Center projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in electrical quality control, preferably in the construction or commissioning of commercial projects.
The successful candidate will have proficiency in electrical installation inspection, knowledge of NEC code, and experience with torque verification. Familiarity with megger testing and medium voltage systems is also essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections to verify that all electrical systems, components, and installations meet specified requirements and quality standards.
- Follow established procedures for electrical terminations, panel schedules, device labeling, torque verification, and documentation as outlined in the CLB2A QA/QC Playbook.
- Conduct thorough inspections of medium voltage terminations, branch circuits, busway joints, modular systems, and other electrical components to ensure they meet manufacturer and project standards.
- Record inspection results, torque logs, and any discrepancies found during inspections. Maintain clear, accurate, and organized documentation for project records per specs.
- Work alongside electricians to verify proper connections, torquing, labeling, and equipment function. Ensure megger testing of circuits is completed where required.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and other safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the commissioning of electrical systems, collaborating with contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with trade partners, supervisors, and Overwatch representatives to resolve any quality issues and ensure all work is completed to high standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in electrical systems or quality control is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical quality control, preferably in the construction or commissioning of commercial projects.
- Proficiency in electrical installation inspection, knowledge of NEC code, and experience with torque verification. Familiarity with megger testing and medium voltage systems.
- QA/QC certifications in electrical systems (e.g., 3M QECC, TE Connectivity MVPower, or equivalent) are desirable.
- Ability to work in varying site conditions, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
