Credit Modeling Associate

At Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, we are seeking a highly skilled Credit Modeling Associate to join our Model Development Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing credit stress testing and other statistical models to support our business operations.
As a Credit Modeling Associate, you will work closely with data, business stakeholders, and other team members to develop, test, and deploy credit and stress testing models. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing credit stress testing and other statistical models
- Managing data feeds associated with group modeling activities
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand and refine model requirements
- Working with the model validation team to ensure model accuracy and reliability
- Monitoring model performance and making recommendations for improvement
- Assisting with quarterly stress testing production runs
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in statistical modeling, including linear and non-linear modeling, classification trees/random forests, and other machine learning techniques. You should also have excellent programming skills in Python, R, and SQL, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a Master's degree or higher in statistics, computer science, or economics. If you have 1-3 years of applied statistical modeling experience and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
