Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Flight Operations Mission Training team as a Lead Space Systems Architect. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of space exploration through the development and execution of comprehensive mission training programs. As part of the Dream Chaser Mission Training team, you will play a crucial role in preparing for mission operations.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:
  • Design and develop mission training materials, including instructional content, reference documents, and simulation scripts.
  • Operate advanced mission simulators to facilitate training sessions.
  • Evaluate and mentor flight controllers to enhance their operational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with fellow simulation instructors during mission exercises to ensure seamless execution.
  • Specialize in various operational areas such as avionics, environmental control, propulsion, and more.
Occasional involvement in other Sierra Space programs may be necessary, depending on your expertise.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who share our passion for innovation and exploration. Ideal candidates will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven expertise in engineering principles and collaborative design processes.
  • A deep understanding of systems integration, risk management, and verification principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a certified spaceflight simulation instructor.
  • Background in developing training materials and conducting instructor-led courses.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Prior experience in real-time spaceflight operations.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
  • Willingness to adapt to varying working conditions.
Working Environment:
  • Minimal exposure to outdoor elements and hazardous materials.
  • Occasional exposure to elevated noise levels.
