Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Aide to support our team at Hills & Dales Child Development Center. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Administer scheduled and assigned medications accurately, adhering to the six R's: Right Resident, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time, Right Route, and Right Documentation.
  • Resident Support: Lift and position residents as required to administer treatment and/or medication, promoting their comfort and safety.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock medication supply, prepare medication orders as scheduled, and maintain a working knowledge of medications administered.
  • Documentation: Document medication administration accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Treatment Administration: Perform assigned treatments utilizing proper procedures and techniques, maintaining a working knowledge of resident programs and procedures.
  • Communication: Inform the nurse on duty of medication/treatment errors, provide assistance to the shift nurse, and maintain resident/client privacy.
  • Supply Management: Monitor nursing inventory supply, prepare supply lists for items needed, and maintain and stock nursing areas during assigned shifts.
  • Transportation: Accompany residents to medical appointments, as assigned, and may drive Center vehicles for errands or transportation, if an approved driver.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certification as a medication aide in the state of Iowa.
  • Education: High school degree or equivalent.
  • Background: Free of a conviction or prior employment history of child or resident abuse or dependent adult abuse.
