Job Summary

The Director of Telemetry is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the telemetry nursing unit, ensuring that quality service is provided on a 24-hour basis. This role involves managing the department and staff to meet quality improvement goals, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Plan, direct, and manage the department and staff to ensure quality service on a 24-hour basis. Promote teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the telemetry unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and corporate policies. Manage supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently to support departmental goals.
  • Staff Performance: Ensure staff performance meets departmental goals and regulatory requirements. Foster an environment of professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Patient Care: Act as a liaison with patients and their representatives to provide high-quality care. Ensure patient satisfaction and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Cost Management: Optimize the use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs, while maintaining high standards of care.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant unit. Director-level experience is strongly preferred.
