Job Title: Before & After School - Youth Enrichment Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Enrichment Instructor to join our team at the Kelly Hall YMCA. As a Youth Enrichment Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for youth in our before and after school programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a wide variety of enrichment activities for grades K-8 in a before or after school program setting.
  • Provide effective supervision of youth, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with youth, parents/guardians, and other team members, promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Prepare lesson plans, ensure materials and supplies are available, and maintain a clean and well-maintained program area.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and instructional records, as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and special events.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 17 years of age and/or 5 years older than the oldest child participating in the program.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED, along with related college coursework and/or equivalent experience in childcare, education, recreation, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for youth and staff.
  • Commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission, including a passion for working with diverse youth.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely present ideas and concepts.
  • Meets physical qualifications required as outlined in the job description.

Child Abuse Prevention:
