Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Manager to join our team at Nature's Bakery. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sanitation program that includes cleaning and sanitation procedures, chemical management, and risk assessment.
  • Lead sanitation validation, risk assessment, and allergen clean validation activities.
  • Train sanitation personnel and operations on sanitation procedures, proper chemical usage, and handling.
  • Ensure site master sanitation schedules meet Mars Global and Regional requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Trend sanitation KPIs and report to key stakeholders.
  • Accountability for all departmental stock and inventory control.
  • Perform employee performance evaluations and hold disciplinary/coaching meetings as needed.
  • Support special project assignments that may occasionally fluctuate between inside and outside environments, scheduled work shifts, and scheduled workdays.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in driving a robust and sustainable sanitation program in CPG manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing procedures, including receiving commodities, processing, packaging, and distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of production equipment, site layout, sanitation, quality systems, and preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge and general acumen of applicable allergen, chemical cleaning, cleaning validation, and verification.
  • Sanitary Design Expert.
  • Familiarity with SDS, PPE, chemical, and safety programs and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Reading and comprehension abilities for proper use of chemicals.
  • Must be able to follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines when using and storing chemicals.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of national Food safety initiatives by strict compliance to all FDA, SQF, and AIB safety protocols and procedures.
  • As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation, and flexibility.
  • Proactive and self-starting, working in a culture of goal setting with continuous improvement focus and training and mentoring of team members.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required. (Engineering, Applied Sciences, Food Science, or relevant Technical degree)
  • Must be willing to complete specific college courses, sanitation courses, and microbiological courses as required to carry out the functions of the role.

Ability to work in a food-manufacturing/food distribution environment. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the plant and offices, including walking, climbing stairs. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of 75lbs. on an intermittent basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located near machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
