Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Technologist, Senior to join our team at Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of our clinical laboratory solutions.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Medical Technologist, Senior to work in a dynamic and fast-paced laboratory environment. You will be responsible for performing routine laboratory test procedures, correlating clinical information, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures. Additionally, you will be expected to collect and direct the collection of specimens, maintain and operate lab equipment, and participate in developmental work on new tests.
Responsibilities- Perform routine laboratory test procedures as outlined in the laboratory standard operating procedures manuals.
- Correlate clinical information and/or previous lab results and report discrepancies to Medical Technologist Supervisor or other designate.
- Maintain and operate lab equipment, troubleshoot problems, and ensure appropriate lab supplies are always on hand.
- Participate in developmental work on new tests and participate in established TQM activities, QC testing of lab reagents, and maintenance of equipment.
- Attend and participate in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge, and enhance professional excellence.
- Work closely with all laboratory personnel to ensure timely client service and accurate test results.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a related science from an accredited program and current and active certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a laboratory scientist (MLS), formerly known as MT/CLS or American Medical Technologist, as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (AMT). Additionally, you will need to have a minimum of four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital/commercial lab setting.
