Key Responsibilities

As a diesel mechanic, you'll be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of vehicles and equipment. This will include:

  • Repairing and maintaining systems and parts associated with class 6, 7, and 8 powered tractors.
  • Diagnosing failures and repairing the vehicle's mechanical, electric, and systems.
  • Using hydraulic jacks to gain access underneath vehicles.
  • Assisting in the replacements of engines, transmissions, differentials, and springs.
  • Troubleshooting the repairs of heavy-duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems.
  • Documenting and repairing, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborating with business partners for training and assistance on complex repairs and tasks.
  • Testing vehicles after repairs and maintenance to ensure they're functioning properly.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic software.
