Job Summary

The Night Shift Supervisor will oversee all personnel in production, ensuring efficient and effective performance during each shift. This role will guarantee that all job setup and workflows meet productivity requirements and provide input as needed to update planning, work instructions, or system procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage time-off requests and unexpected no-show situations
  • Document and communicate situations requiring disciplinary action (tardiness, time theft, safety violations, etc.)
  • Set performance goals for individual employees and teams each shift
  • Ensure goals are met through daily production planning and production results
  • Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and issues in need of resolution
  • Maintain a work environment that encourages compliance with safety laws and adheres to the Company's quality policy and objectives
  • Assist team members with preventative maintenance, setup, and process as required
  • Act as an advocate for Continuous Improvement, suggesting process improvements through resource allocation
  • Responsible for all floor activities when Managers are not on duty
  • Provide feedback to managers on employee performance and training needs
  • Act as a mentor, coach, and trainer for new and existing team members
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate Degree or Technical Degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Drive to succeed, motivation, and positive attitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure goals are achieved
  • Detail-oriented
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
  • Strong leadership skills with experience directing a team
  • High degree of professionalism
Essential Functions and Physical Demands
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to lift 55-60 lbs. at continuous intervals throughout the day
  • Must be able to pull finished products and 350 lbs. gaylords of material
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate necessary equipment to do the job
  • Requires frequent bending, squatting, and twisting motions
Work Environment

The work environment is typically in an indoor concrete-floored precision machining shop. The general noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
