Job Summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner attending at Connections Wellness Group is responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered to our patients. This includes assessing clinical appropriateness for admission, collaborating with staff, and performing psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments. The successful candidate will also provide individual therapy, family therapy, and medication management as needed, while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess clinical appropriateness for admission and collaborate with staff regarding potential outpatient admissions.
  2. Perform psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments (progress notes) for individuals under their care.
  3. Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and/or medication management as needed for patients under their care.
  4. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA standards.
  5. Complete all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws Rules and Regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited mental health nurse practitioner program required, board certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in mental health psychiatric practice preferred.
  • Currently unencumbered psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) licensure in the state of Texas.
