Music Industry Manager

Job Summary:

The Baltimore Jazz Collective is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Music Industry Manager to oversee the creation and execution of all elements for annually released albums. This role will provide performance and public relations management services to the collective, ensuring seamless coordination between band members and venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Album Creation and Release: Coordinate tracking, mixing, and mastering of recorded material, oversee design needs for physical and digital releases, and prepare album track listings and liner notes.
  • Coordinating between Band Members and Venues: Schedule rehearsals, performances, workshops, and promotional opportunities, leveraging existing relationships to book engagements and identify new opportunities.
  • Public Relations: Develop and manage marketing strategies for national and local markets, hire outside PR for local marketing and public relations during album release cycles, and coordinate focused outreach to specific markets.
  • Other Project Duties: Coordinate website design, launch and manage social media pages, and oversee other projects the BJC band is involved with.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills, long-term strategy development, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in detail-oriented calendar management and consistent communication with band members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in entertainment business, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the music industry, with a focus on product management, artist management, booking, or publicity.
