Child Care Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Worker to join our team at California Schools Talent Collaborative. As a Child Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe, clean, and secure environment for children enrolled in our Child Development Center (CDC) program.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and oversee recreational, meal periods, and playground activities for children.
- Apply District and State program policies, procedures, and regulations related to assigned activities.
- Maintain good behavior management and discipline of children participating in classroom, playground, meal periods, and recreational activities.
- Monitor and circulate throughout assigned areas and classrooms to promote safety and acceptable attitudes.
- Assist with meal preparation, serving meals and snacks, and encouraging good manners and proper nutrition during meal periods.
- Model, monitor, and support the academic needs of children, providing assistance with homework and academic activities.
- Encourage children to communicate by asking questions, initiating and extending conversations, and providing emotional support.
- Assist children with their personal care, including buttoning and zipping clothing items, tying shoes, and caring for their personal belongings.
- Communicate with center and program administration and school staff regarding pertinent information.
- Conduct regular inventory and safety checks of playground supplies and properly store playground equipment and supplies.
- Perform daily visual inspections of classrooms, playgrounds, restrooms, and surrounding areas for potential hazards.
- Perform incidental housekeeping tasks, such as arranging objects, putting items away, and wiping down tables, chairs, and restrooms.
- Operate a walkie-talkie and radio for emergency assistance as necessary.
- Provide routine clerical assistance to program staff, including filing, completing forms, answering phones, and preparing materials for program activities.
- Administer first aid or necessary physical assistance to ill or distressed children.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent OR Proof of enrollment in an accredited California college.
- Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge, or abilities may be considered.
Incumbents in this class will actively participate in the activities of a Child Development Center (CDC) program designed to provide child care both before and after regular school hours. Child Care Worker assignments may not exceed 18 hours per week.
