Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced sonographer to perform transthoracic echocardiograms for patients of all ages, including fetuses, premature neonates, newborns, and adults with congenital heart disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols and sterile techniques.
  • Recognize and resolve clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams.
  • Communicate effectively with ordering and interpreting physicians to ensure appropriate use of echocardiography services.
  • Maintain active credential status by complying with continual education requirements.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment effectively and report equipment issues to biomedical engineering or vendors.
  • Perform routine maintenance of echo vascular equipment to ensure consistency of quality images.
Requirements:
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • Location: Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital
  • Experience: One year of experience after acquiring registry in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography or 5 years specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting
  • Certification(s): ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification, or CCI Registered with RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS; Certification for Vascular. BLS (AHA)
