Job Summary:
The City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Health Educator II to work in the Tuberculosis Clinic. This is a full-time, unclassified position that requires a strong background in health education and a passion for public health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field investigations to locate and contact individuals who have been exposed to TB.
- Refer patients and conduct medical quality assurance activities to ensure proper treatment for those with TB infections.
- Provide linkages to care, including medical and mental health services.
- Develop and disseminate health content to the public.
- Review case files, conduct peer reviews, and participate in case review meetings and huddles.
Requirements:
- Two years of experience in a health education setting.
- Bilingual skills in Khmer, Spanish, and/or Tagalog.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Knowledge of community services in the Long Beach and Los Angeles areas.
