The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality patient care as a member of the healthcare team. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory care, including the administration of medications, therapeutic modalities, and oxygen therapy. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer medications and therapeutic modalities as prescribed by physicians
* Set up and monitor oxygen administration, including oxygen cylinders and safety measures
* Perform bedside PFT tests and arterial punctures
* Set up and troubleshoot hemodynamic lines and mechanical ventilators
* Maintain accurate and legible records, documenting clinical notes in patient charts
Requirements:
* Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
* Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care
* Bachelor's or associate's degree from an accredited college in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science
* Minimum two years in an acute care setting
