Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently looking for Aircraft Assembly Technicians (Level B) to support various aspects of the production system while contributing to different aircraft programs throughout your career in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable Shift.

As an Aircraft Assembly Technician B, you will operate within a manufacturing assembly setting, utilizing knowledge gained from training and certification programs to fulfill your daily tasks.

By interpreting technical drawings and comprehending work instructions, you will be responsible for identifying your task location on the aircraft/part/tooling and determining all necessary hand tools, components, and equipment to achieve defect-free results.


Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to acquire and maintain all required certifications.

- Utilize a computer in a production environment.

- Read and understand technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.

- Install various components and assemblies such as brackets, fittings, angles, frames, and splices.

- Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment as dictated by the task.


- Employ various tools including rivet guns, screwdrivers, lock bolt pullers, power screwdrivers, and drills, among others.

- Operate mechanical lifts of different types (e.g., JLGs, Magic Carpets, and scissor lifts).

- Route wire harnesses to supports.

- Install connectors to receptacles and electronic components.

- Conduct fiber optic cleaning and inspection, light loss testing, routing, and installation.

- Work with chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.

- Operate around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards) and be exposed to constant noise.

- Inspect work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).

- Operate heavy machinery such as cranes, stands, movers, and lifts.

- Ensure First Pass Quality (FPQ) is achieved according to engineering drawings and specifications.

- Perform finger manipulation (keyboarding, etc.).

- Read from a computer screen, printed drawings, or documents.

- Adhere to high standards of safety and compliance with regulations.

- Verify and ensure FAA compliance with the Quality Management System.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

- 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.

- 1+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of aviation experience (school included).

- Must be able to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection Certifications.

- Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance with regulations.

- Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds.

- Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.


- Physical capabilities include flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending, reaching, rotation, standing, twisting, and walking.

- Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, and crouching.

- Use of high-impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g.,

High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate).
