Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining cost-effective clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and direction to direct patient care staff, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining patient and staff safety.
- Participate in department staffing and make recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with all company and facility-approved procedures and policies, as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies.
- Approve or disapprove time or personnel schedule changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in patient care plan meetings and maintain knowledge of current practices related to dialysis principles and techniques.
- Train and orient staff as necessary, promoting efficient use of medical supplies and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Supervise all documentation of patient information and coordinate Charge Nurse duties with Staff RNs acting in the relief charge capacity.
- Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute patient care assignments, and assume primary responsibility in emergency situations.
- Collaborate with direct patient care team members to make decisions that benefit patient care, continuously monitoring patient conditions and implementing changes as directed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Registered and licensed to practice in the applicable State
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients
- Medical/surgical nursing preferred, with supervisory or management experience
- Certified in CPR or successfully complete course in CPR certification
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
