About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team at CommonSpirit Health. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients in the PACU, including those with critical care needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including oxygenation, respiratory status, circulation, and level of consciousness
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the recovery process
Requirements
  • Current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within 60 days of hire
  • PALS certification within 60 days of hire
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a PACU or critical care setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • National certification in area of specialty, such as CCRN or CPAN
  • Experience with all phases of post anesthesia care, including preoperative, Phase 1, and Phase 2
  • Previous experience in charge and preceptor roles
  • Ability to start IVs and manage airways and airway emergencies
