Job Summary

The EMT-B Paramedic's role is to transport sick and injured persons by ambulance in a safe and comfortable manner. They administer Basic and Advanced Life Support level pre-hospital care and treatment, adhering to State of Ohio law and North Central EMS' Medical Director guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in the pre-hospital setting, utilizing written medical guidelines and direct medical control with hospital emergency departments.
  • Administer Advanced Life Support procedures when patient condition warrants.
  • Provide Basic and Advanced Life Support levels of patient care, integrating each effectively to produce optimal patient care.
  • Assure the presence and functionality of ALS level equipment and its replacement and restocking if used.
  • Document ALS level of care when instituted.
  • Adhere to shift change policy/checklist at the beginning and end of every shift.
  • Dispose of contaminated material in compliance with State rules and regulations.
