Sunrise Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist- Blood Bank to join our team. As a Medical Technologist- Blood Bank, you will be responsible for performing clinical testing in the blood bank area, including blood typing, cross-matching, and transfusion services.
You will work closely with our laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely results, and will be responsible for maintaining quality control and quality assurance procedures. Additionally, you will assist with the instruction of medical technology students and work collaboratively with nursing and other hospital staff to ensure timely patient care.
Responsibilities- Evaluate abnormal results and initiate corrective action with follow-up
- Implement troubleshooting skills as needed to ensure the continual operation of laboratory instrumentation
- Ensure that proficiency testing is performed and reported according to procedures
- Assist laboratory staff and patient care staff in the execution of laboratory-related tasks and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college, or a university degree with a successful score on a national examination for certification approved by the State Board. You will also need current State licensure (within six months of hire date) or provisional licensure per State regulations.
