The Emergency Department Registered Nurse coordinates and provides nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
The Emergency Department provides emergency medical services to individuals from all age groups as needed.
Responsibilities:- Coordinates and provides nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department.
- Participates in patient and family teaching to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provides leadership and works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
- Must be competent to provide care to patients in the following age groups: infant, toddler, and school-age, teenage, adult, senior, and geriatric.
- Must be able to assess developmental needs across the life span and adjust care accordingly to meet physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
- Current California RN License required.
- Graduate from a school of nursing with either ADN or BSN degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience (within 18 months) in an acute care hospital's emergency department.
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS & NIHSS Stroke Scale Certifications required upon hire.
- Must be computer-literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel).
- Familiarity with Allscripts, helpful and experience in EMR.
- Estimated pay: $59.74 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
