Job Summary

Seacoast Bank is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter III to support the revenue growth and asset quality of our commercial lending line of business. As a key member of our lending partnership, you will play a critical role in new client relationship development, existing client relationship monitoring, and credit risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial information to assess borrower and guarantor financial condition and ability to repay loans, perform periodic reviews, and covenant tests.
  • Investigate credit and financial information from various sources, including reporting services, credit bureaus, and trade references.
  • Meet with borrowers and accountants to discuss financial information and loan requirements.
  • Prepare and present financial information, industry data, and market trends to support credit decisions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of credit culture and loan policy to inform risk appetite and policy adherence.
  • Manage loan portfolio to ensure conformity with approved terms and compliance with loan documents.
  • Proactively identify weaknesses in loans to minimize bank exposure and reduce credit risk.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial lending, loan structuring, finance, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Ability to develop and sustain analytic and risk management skills.
  • Familiarity with various industries and commercial property types.
  • Experience evaluating economic and market conditions.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and operations of commercial lending.
