Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the Zoo grounds on a regular basis throughout the shift to detect and prevent any potential security threats.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity or incidents.
  • Interact and communicate with the general public in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a DOJ criminal background check.
  • Current CA Guard Card preferred.
  • Valid California Driver's License with good driving record desirable.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to walk and remain on feet for a full shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to exert a minimum of 25 pounds of force and lift, push or pull objects that may exceed 25 lbs.
  • Ability to negotiate all areas of the Zoo in all weather conditions.

Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

Compensation:

$20.50 per hour.
