Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Bryan Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging exams to assist with the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders, utilizing the appropriate equipment as required for the ordered exam.
  • Provide instructions and prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Enter exam data and accurate patient information into computer systems, maintaining accurate records and logs.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Maintain professional interaction with physicians, co-workers, patients, and patients' families, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform all quality control checks, as prescribed, and maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing ultrasound examinations, including the use of equipment to minimize safety hazards.
  • Calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning, and stock and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Documentation meets current standards and hospital policy, and provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an approved program in ultrasound technology required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • One (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred.
  • Certification in abdomen and OB/GYN required, other certifications preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
