Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair: Identify the source of trouble and determine the extent of repairs required for gasoline and diesel engines used to power various equipment.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Use hand tools to locate causes of trouble, dismantle engines, and inspect/examine parts for defects.
  • Replace or Repair Parts: Replace or repair worn or broken parts, such as piston rings and bearings, thermostats, electrical wiring, or other engine parts.
  • Grind and Adjust Valves: Rebuild carburetors, overhauls transmissions, repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
  • Rotate, Repair, and Replace Tires: Drain, flush, and replace engine transmission, and differential grease and oils.
  • Clean and Replace Filters: Check, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs, clean and replace oil and air filters.
  • Adjust Brakes and Replace Windshield Wipers: Maintain tools and equipment, and clean work areas.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training/experience, minimum 1-3 years of experience.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license required for this position.
