About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Deputy Registrar I in the Office of Voter Registration and Elections. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support for voter registration and election processes, ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and processing mail ballots, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to voters.
  • Support in-person early voting, providing information and instruction to voters, and ensuring compliance with election laws and procedures.
  • Monitor voting equipment and maintain ballot security at all times.
  • Reconcile information and prepare supplies for early voting satellite locations and election day.
  • Provide excellent customer service to citizens, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • One year of clerical or administrative experience in a position involving public contact and completion of high-school-level courses in arithmetic and English.
  • Must be a registered voter in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and at satellite locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Virginia voter registration and election laws and procedures.
