Job Title: Chinese Linguist

Leidos is seeking experienced and highly qualified Chinese Translators/Linguists to support the company's National Security Programs.

Job Summary:

The linguist will perform a full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring a general professional capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and abstract language, capturing intended implications and nuances.
  • Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
  • Translate and interpret accurately, with good understanding of one or more regional dialects.
  • Review audio or internet materials, transcribe with high degree of accuracy and expression.
  • Identify and accurately summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts.
  • Triage documentation to isolate pertinent and nuanced info.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS and equivalent formal military training.
  • 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience deployed as a linguist supporting contingency operations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in Target and English.
Clearance:

No clearance is required to apply to the job. After passing the required tests, we will sponsor and upgrade your security clearance. TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Language Testing Requirements:

All candidates will be required to take and pass a language test administered by LEIDOS/an accepted commercial testing vendors.
