Nursing Assistant for Elderly Care

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to join our team and provide exceptional care to our residents. As a GNA, you will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, taking and recording vital signs, and providing emotional support and companionship.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Help residents with mobility and positioning, including transferring and lifting as needed.
- Provide assistance with medication administration under the supervision of licensed nurses.
- Monitor residents' condition and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, including ensuring proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
- Encourage and support residents in participating in recreational and social activities.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and their families.
- Document resident information and care provided accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive resident care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) training program and current certification as a GNA.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a long-term care setting.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards elderly residents and their families.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing resident needs.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting resident information.
- Physical ability to lift and move residents and perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining resident confidentiality.
The estimated salary for this position is $48,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
