As a Home Health Aide (HHA), you will deliver essential personal care and supportive services within the client's residence, following the directives of the RN Case Manager. The tasks assigned to you will be outlined in the care plan and executed under the supervision of an RN, who will oversee the quality of care provided. It is important to note that certain medical procedures, such as adjusting oxygen settings or performing invasive tasks, are outside the scope of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to the care plan to ensure safe and effective service delivery to clients.
- Assist clients in maintaining personal hygiene and a safe living environment.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to client needs.
- Support clients with mobility as per the approved care plan.
- Encourage client independence through various activities.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to clients and their families, fostering trust and confidentiality.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's physical or mental health to the supervising RN.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a comfortable environment for clients.
- Document care provided in progress notes in a timely manner.
- Coordinate visit schedules weekly to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Collaborate with other community service providers involved in the client's care.
- Participate in required training sessions as mandated by state regulations.
- Communicate regularly with the RN Case Manager regarding client status and care updates.
- Promptly notify the RN Case Manager of any significant changes in client condition.
- Operate within the defined scope of practice for Home Aides.
- Must possess adequate hearing, vision, and physical dexterity to perform client assessments and care tasks.
- Occasional lifting and moving of clients, with the ability to carry up to 30 pounds.
- Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual methods.
- Compliance with company policies and guidelines is essential.

As part of United Energy Workers Healthcare, you will have access to client service records, which must be handled with confidentiality in collaboration with the healthcare team and management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of state-mandated training hours is necessary, if applicable.
- Proficient in computer and internet applications for documentation purposes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards clients.
- Knowledge of client care equipment and safety practices.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Professional appearance is required.
- Must be in good health, free from conditions that could harm clients or caregivers, with appropriate health documentation.
- Understanding of personal care, housekeeping, and meal preparation basics.
- Respect for client privacy and confidentiality is paramount.
