Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Weld Lead to join our team at Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc. As a Weld Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the welding process, ensuring high-quality products, and leading a team of welders to achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of welders to achieve production goals and ensure high-quality products
  • Oversee the welding process, including quality checks, fitment, and weld issues
  • Act as a liaison between the weld department and engineering
  • Mentor, train, and motivate team members on job functions and productivity
  • Distribute work to welders at the start of the shift or as necessary
  • Responsible for the quality of finished products produced through proper administration of the company's Quality Assurance Program
  • Examine welds for bead size and other specifications and perform quality control inspections
  • Continually foster and support a continuous improvement environment
  • Respond to problems within the area of responsibility and take a lead role in problem-solving activities
  • Produce parts per part print and labor standards to achieve production goals
  • Repair bad welds, fix broken or cracked objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area to support 6S initiative, personal, and environmental safety goals
  • Participate in cross-training throughout the welding department and demonstrate an interest and flexibility in learning and working with others

Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Proven leadership, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read measurement devices such as tape measure, combination square, carpenter's square, T square, angle finder, level, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and detailed blueprints
  • Ability to rig larger weldments for lifting and rotating
  • Ability to operate a forklift
