About the Role

Strategic Management Solutions (SMSI) is seeking a highly skilled Principal Plumbing Engineer or Designer to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating process/mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engineering plans and designs for plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and review calculations and specifications for P&ID development, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop mechanical systems, water and waste systems, and equipment design.
  • Conduct construction document reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting applications is required.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 or more years of experience in engineering and/or design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
  • Experience working in the nuclear industry is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance is required.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
