About the Role

As a Prepared Foods Department Supervisor at Whole Foods Market, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Prepared Foods team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive sales growth, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Prepared Foods team members, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient department operations.
  • Collaborate with the Prepared Foods Trainer to develop and implement training programs that enhance team performance and minimize turnover.
  • Assist in the training of new team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to ensure they are equipped to excel in their roles.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated inventory, adhering to established procedures for opening and closing the department.
  • Ensure all team members receive necessary breaks and communicate concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader.
  • Set and achieve high standards of retail execution, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Monitor customer flows and needs, directing team members as needed to satisfy and delight customers, and respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Conduct timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, consistently communicating and modeling WFM vision and goals.
Requirements
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent interpersonal, motivational, team-building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Showcase capability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner, with product knowledge and advanced regulatory and safety policies and procedures expertise.
  • Demonstrate decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate, with proficiency in email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • Hold 12+ months of retail experience.
Benefits

Whole Foods Market offers a competitive salary range of $16.50 - $23.35 hourly, commensurate with experience, as well as 'Whole Benefits' including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs.

Please note that eligibility for Whole Benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan at a person's date of hire.
