The Claims Analyst is responsible for overseeing straightforward, non-complex Medical Only workers' compensation claims, as well as more intricate Lost Time claims, ensuring adherence to company best practices and operating within designated authority limits. This role operates under the guidance of a senior claims professional, contributing to the objectives of the claims department and CorVel Corporation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receives and processes claims, verifying policy coverage and acknowledgment of the claim Assesses the validity and compensability of claims Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within the limits of reserving authority Manages straightforward medical-only claims and more complex lost-time workers' compensation claims Communicates updates on claims status to customers, claimants, and clients Follows client and carrier guidelines and engages in claims reviews as necessary Maintains regular and consistent attendance Adheres to all safety regulations during working hours in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ("IIPP") Takes on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Strong written and verbal communication abilities Quick learner with the capacity to develop a solid understanding of claims practices Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues Competent in computer applications and technical skills, particularly with MS Office, including Excel Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational capabilities Proven ability to meet or exceed performance standards Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience At least 3 years of experience in the industry and claims management is preferred

COMPENSATION RANGE:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, and salary ranges may differ based on geographic location. Pay rates are determined by various factors, including federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic location differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges are subject to change.

For roles with levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be placed at a different level based on evaluations during the interview process, considering experience, qualifications, and overall suitability for the position. The level may influence the salary range, and these adjustments will be clarified during the offer stage.

Salary Range: $50,593 – $81,593
