NYU Langone Health System is a leading medical center that offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team on a per diem basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients via venipuncture, finger or heel stick procedures, following established protocols. They will also work with our laboratory information system to ensure accurate specimen accessioning and labeling.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, finger or heel stick procedures
  • Work with the laboratory information system to ensure accurate specimen accessioning and labeling
  • Train and educate students and staff on phlebotomy procedures
  • Assume job assignments and staffing responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
