The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) at Intermountain Health is a dedicated healthcare professional responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of care for adult and pediatric patients receiving hospice and home health services. This role emphasizes delivering high-quality clinical care in a compassionate environment while functioning independently in patients' homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to provide care that adheres to hospice and home health protocols, as well as legal and regulatory standards.
- Implement evidence-based practices and coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in continuous professional development by acquiring specialized skills such as wound care, medication administration, and patient education.
Work Schedule:
This position typically operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional on-call duties, weekend shifts, and holiday rotations. Specific scheduling details can be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN License in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- New RNs must obtain a BSN within five years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Two years of nursing experience.
- Prior experience in acute care, home health, or hospice settings.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to:
- Visually assess patient needs and operate medical equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Manipulate delicate medical instruments and perform documentation tasks.
- Lift and transfer patients, as well as carry medical supplies.
- Drive a vehicle to reach patient locations.
