Role Summary:

We are currently seeking skilled Press Maintenance Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts in the Chelsea, MI area. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary. The Press Maintenance Technician will leverage their expertise to perform both scheduled and unscheduled machine setups, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Additionally, they will engage in advanced troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing their technical knowledge to recommend and implement enhancements and corrective measures. The role will involve working with various technologies, including stamping presses. Compensation ranges from $24 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and interview performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct troubleshooting, implement corrective measures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure operational efficiency of stamping presses.
  • Apply advanced technical skills to install, maintain, and repair equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Respond promptly to work orders, ensuring timely resolution of requests.
  • Inspect and maintain existing equipment to guarantee the production of quality products that meet company and customer standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of necessary items and submit procurement requests as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical prints.
  • Ability to obtain certifications for forklift and crane operation.
  • Capable of working at heights using manlifts and ladders, including performing roof work.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems (DC and AC voltage), welding (Arc, MIG, TIG, and spot), and plumbing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and PLCs.
  • A minimum of 5 years of documented relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a production stamping environment, specifically with presses and heavy dies.
