We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for providing managerial and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
- Monitor and evaluate unit performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Recruit, train, and develop nursing staff to ensure a skilled and competent workforce.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license by date of hire.
- Considerable experience in leadership/management roles, including prior experience working with regulatory bodies and survey readiness.
- Previous RN experience with the psychiatric patient population.
- Excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary team leadership skills.
- Experience working with both medicine and psychiatric patient populations.
- Previous experience working in a large academic medical center.
- Experience working in a union environment.
