Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of quality in the provision of pharmacy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prescription Processing: Review, interpret, and dispense prescriptions issued by physicians, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all pertinent company standard operating procedures and policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain established quality assurance procedures, security of all prescription medication, and appropriate disposal of materials, adhering to infection-control protocols and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Patient Care: Ensure accuracy of prescription, identify inconsistencies, and implement appropriate action to correct identified problems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Schedule II Medications: Responsible for all tasks and actions related to Schedule II medications prior to shipping.
  • Work Queues: Manage work queues and ensure functions performed by junior staff have been reviewed.
  • Pharmaceutical Preparation: Verify the preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, and charges.
  • Clinical Consultation: Act as a resource for staff, providing informal guidance, direction, and advice through correct processes, procedures, and pertinent regulations.
  • Professional Development: Maintain current pharmaceutical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy required; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Appropriate state licensure required.
  • Experience: One year directly related work experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical background in chronic kidney disease patients preferred; knowledge of current Pharmacy Law; continuing education in chronic kidney disease; mail order and/or retail experience helpful; ability to meet deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational and analytical skills; proficient with PCs, Microsoft Office Applications, and pharmacy management systems.
